Food Resilience
Responding to a Global Crisis
The impacts of the Russia-Ukraine conflict are already being felt on the African continent. Currently, food shortages and supply chain disruptions have caused unprecedented increases in food prices. This rampant inflation, coupled with climate-related shocks and the longer-term socioeconomic impacts of the COVID-19 global pandemic, is expected to have devastating effects on food security across the continent. In response to these pressing needs and in line with Prosper Africa goals to drive investment across the African continent, the USAID Africa Trade and Investment activity is building private sector-led partnerships to bolster African food resilience.
